Skills Summit

The Skills Summit is a two-day industry event clearly focused on supporting mid-level career freelancers and potential new entrants. Expect hands-on training, expert panels with leading industry figures and networking with decision-makers across the UK creative sector.

Be part of the Skills Summit 2026 in Liverpool

The Skills Summit is back for its second year — bigger, bolder and full of opportunity.

The first day of the Skills Summit on Wednesday 6th May is an in-person day full of masterclasses and hands-on training and is designed for mid-level career creatives in the screen industries.

A networking lunch will also give delegates the chance to meet leading industry figures, make valuable connections and continue conversations in an informal setting.


All tickets are free, but places are limited. To qualify for a free place you will need to share your CV to show you have a minimum of three professional credits.

Training + Expert Panel Discussions

Throughout the day there will be training in generative AI, development and pitching for digital productions and separately practical training in vertical drama.

Plus, expert panel discussions with organisations including Amazon, BBC, Lime Pictures, Liverpool Football Club, ScreenSkills, Liverpool Film Office and more.

Is the Skills Summit in the same venue as the Creative Cities Convention?

The Skills Summit is not in the same venue as the CCC but is in a venue very nearby to allow skills summit delegates access to the conference marketplace.

What is the Skills Summit?

The Skills Summit is a two-day event.  Day One is for mid-level career freelancers who have a minimum of three professional credits.  Day Two is for young people with a proven interest in the creative industries.  Day Two is by invite via schools, FE colleges and apprenticeship programmes.

Who can attend the Skills Summit?

The Skills Summit is open to mid-level career freelancers and young people interested in the screen and creative content industries.

What will I learn at the Skills Summit?

Participants will gain practical insights through hands-on training as well as masterclasses discussing the most important topics of the day.

How do I register for Skills Summit?

For mid-level career freelancers with a minimum of three professional credits, you will need to reserve a place via Eventbrite.  Our Eventbrite page will go live at 10am on Thursday 2nd April.  You will then need to share your CV - to show your three professional credits - to ultimately secure a place.

For new entrants - all places are allocated through local FE colleges and schools and there is not an Eventbrite page for the new entrant day.
